Have you had a miscarriage or experienced the loss of a child? Miami Valley Women’s Center can provide the support you need to heal. You can share your feelings in a safe, open environment with other individuals who have experienced loss.

Through honest communication, understanding, and acceptance, our support group can help you deal with your emotions and move along the road to recovery. It’s okay to feel hurt. Just know you’re not alone. We can help you get through this.

Coping with Loss

The loss of a baby often has a powerful effect on the parents and others close to the situation. Parents and loved ones need time to grieve. Feelings of sadness might be intense, but they will only be temporary. No matter how much it hurts now, keep in mind that you will begin to feel better in the future. Until then, take your time as you unpack your feelings.

Dealing with Grief

Grief is the combination of feelings you experience when you have suffered the death of a loved one. During the hardest times, you might not want to leave your house or even get out of bed. But eventually, as you progress through the stages, you will feel better and be able to move on. Here are the five stages of grief:

  • Denial
  • Anger
  • Depression
  • Bargaining
  • Acceptance

At Miami Valley Women’s Center, it’s our goal to provide a safe space for families to support one another through the stages of grief and help you cope and ultimately recover from your loss.
