pregnancy testing

An unexpected pregnancy can feel overwhelming, but we are here for you. We offer pregnancy testing at no cost.

how does a pregnancy test work?

A pregnancy test detects the presence of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), the hormone associated with pregnancy. If hCG is detected, the test will be positive. At Hope Rising, you simply provide a urine sample, and a staff member will share the result of your test within a few minutes.

i took a pregnancy test at home. do I need to be tested at the center?

Home pregnancy tests have improved over the years, but many factors can influence the accuracy of your test. For example, if a pregnancy test is taken too early, there may not be enough hCG in your system to be detected, which would produce a false-negative test result. Our pregnancy tests are 99 percent accurate and administered by one of our trained staff members at no cost to you.

what are my next steps?

If you are pregnant, the next step is an ultrasound. Ultrasound is used to visually verify the pregnancy, discover if the pregnancy is viable, and determine how far along the pregnancy is.

All of this information will empower you to make an informed decision moving forward.
