The decision you have to make about your unexpected pregnancy can seem impossible right now. You are not alone as you navigate all your emotions and questions. At Hope Rising, we can better inform you about two options if you know parenting is not for you: abortion and adoption.

What is Abortion Like?

Abortion is a serious medical decision that terminates an existing, viable pregnancy. This can be done surgically or with medicine. Both medical and surgical abortion come with major risks including infection, incomplete abortion, and heavy/prolonged bleeding.

To determine which abortion procedure you may be eligible for, confirm your pregnancy at our center today at no cost. After a positive pregnancy test, we can provide a limited ultrasound to help you determine how far along you are, if your pregnancy is viable, and the location of your pregnancy (whether it’s located within the uterus).

What is Adoption Like?

An adoption is an option for women who desire to continue their pregnancy and offer their child a hopeful future and offer couples a chance to adopt.

Adoption has greatly improved over the years, giving the birth mother more input on the process. There are multiple adoption options to choose from, including:

  1. Open Adoption: The birth mother and adoptive family create a plan and decide how involved all parties will be. All forms of communication are planned including in-person visits, phone calls, etc.
  2. Semi-Open Adoption: All communication is done by a third party so you can decide how much contact you wish to have.
  3. Closed Adoption: The birth mother remains completely private, and all identifying records are legally sealed.
